13-19+ Participation Project

What we have achieved...

Working with a group of young people we carried out 7 events across the city to promote participation. These events were to present the findings of an audit of participation and mapping of groups carried out across the city from questionnaires and young people’s focus groups. Key decision makers and partner organisations were invited to take part in discussion groups and pledge to increase young people’s participation.

Positve Image Group

Following on from the evmts a group of young people designed a poster that went on buses across Sheffield to challenge the negative stereotype of young people and sent us out to find positive news stories across the city.

Neighbourhood Youth Forum Training

Working with three groups of young people from the South and South West Community Assemblies we delivered Neighbourhood Youth Forum training. Following on from the training the group organised an event presenting issues for young people in their areas to key decision makers. Discussion groups talked about how we could work together to improve things for young people.

This workwas carried out by the Children and Young People’s Empowerment Project in partnership with Sheffield Futures and was commissioned by Sheffield City Council on behalf of the Sheffield 0-19+ Partnership.
