Chilypep is a nationally registered charity and company limited by guarantee, based in Sheffield where the majority of our work has taken place. We have worked in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Sheffield and with some of the most hardest to reach groups of children and young people, supporting them to make a positive contribution to their communities and neighbourhoods. Our models, tools and training techniques have been nationally recognised by the government and the National Youth Agency in published good practice guidance, national evaluations and Sheffield City Council’s Joint Area Review inspection.
We take a holistic approach to working with children and young people, and whilst all our work falls within the Every Child Matters (ECM) Positive Contribution outcome, we are able to help children and young people meet other ECM outcomes; as the skills, knowledge, confidence and ability they develop whilst working with us enhances all aspects of their lives.
Empowerment for children and young people is the outcome of our work, brought about by developing models of participation. The result is that they are able to voice their ideas, views and opinions, and engage with decision makers to ensure their voices are heard and acted upon. They are also equipped with the skills and tools to develop their own solutions to issues, becoming activists within their communities and positive role models for others.
This website highlights some of the work we do and what children, young people, organisations and decision makers think about us. If you would like to learn more about how we could work with you to increase children and young people’s participation within your field, please contact the Lesley Pollard - Managing Director on 0114 246 3897 or email lesley.pollard@chilypep.org.uk |
