Special Interest-Based Work
Introduction
The inclusion project aims at working with marginalised and hard to reach young people that sometimes find it difficult to get their voices heard. It is a project about young people supporting each other to tackle the issues that are important to them. Young people gain knowledge and skills through informal group work & training which enables them to share their views & influence decision makers.
Examples of our work include:
| • |
Working with young Black and Minority Ethnic women to look at issues for young women within their communities and develop their own projects and management committee |
| • |
Working with disabled young people to identify common issues, develop an awareness training programme for them to deliver to adults, and supporting them to meet with and share their views with local decision makers and politicians |
| • |
Working with Children & young people that have been looked after by the Local Authority |
| • |
Working with asylum seeking children and refugees to have fun, learn new skills, discuss issues among themselves and find out their interests and potential. |
