STAMP (support, Think, Act, Motivate, Participate) have recently been working with Fixers to create a film highlighting the experiences of young people around Mental Health. STAMP are all about using their own experiences around mental health to STAMP Out Stigma around mental health and campaign for change at a local and national level.
VOYCE PG have been working with Fixers to create a film highlighting the experiences of young carers. Fixers are young people using their past to fix the future. They are motivated by personal experience to make positive change for themselves and those around them.
VOYCE PG have been working hard in the run up to Carers Week (8-14 June 2015) to showcase what it means to be a young carer. Thanks to Sheffield Showcase, VOYCE PG have managed to source a shop front on Pinstone Street in Sheffield City Centre, where they are showcasing some of their work. This includes their campaign posters, poetry highlighting the experiences of young carers and the issues they face, and photography and young carers stories that recently featured at the Children’s Society ‘Hidden 2015’ exhibition in London.
Why not go check it out!? The showcase will run from 3rd-14th June 2015. We’d love to hear your feedback @WeAreVoyce #WeCareDoYou?!

My mum had Addison’s Disease [a rare disorder of the adrenal glands], depression and a thyroid condition. She passed away on 28 November 2008. My little brother was nine when mum died.
Calm. Cool. And a carer.

I care for my mum, who has a thyroid disorder, and my dad, who has dyspraxia and a hernia. Both of them have depression. They are separated and live at different ends of the city.
From 11-22nd February 2015, Matt and Becky, members of VOYCE PG, featured in a national photography exhibition highlighting the invisibility of young carers, who often remain ‘Hidden’. Having taken part in a photo shoot with Max Alexander (an award winning photographer and former young carer) against the backdrop of Sheffield City landscapes, their photographs are a testament to young carers in the City.
